It was so great to preach at Ichthus Woolwich this morning. I was speaking about Pursuing the Presence of God and how to create supernatural atmospheres and these guys were really up for it!
It’s an awesome thing for a church to have so many people commit themselves to seeking the presence of God. That kind of individual commitment to seeking His presence will open the door for a greater corporate anointing in the congregation…I’m looking forward to seeing all that God will do there.
There were 3 main points from the passage in Mark 10 that I felt were significant for today:
1. Bartimaeus wouldn’t stop until he got the breakthrough. Even though the people tried to put him off and shut him up, he pressed on until Jesus answered his request.
2. Bartimaeus threw off his cloak and went to Jesus without a second thought. By throwing his cloak off he was losing his earthly security and trusting in Jesus.
3. Bartimaeus had faith for breakthrough. Jesus healed him because his heart was open and full of faith.
This story is so inspiring to me to help me pursue the presence of God with more passion, for Jesus will meet us as we seek Him for greater breakthrough.
