‘Set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated…’ Colossians 3:1.

– this is an act of worship that leads us into freedom. With our hearts and minds fixed above, where Jesus is seated and reigning we are able to walk into the purposes of God which are real in heaven. On the earth we struggle and have to deal with opposition to the will of God, but if we allow our thoughts to be caught up into His then we begin to live in His truth and reality which we can then receive in our lives on the earth. 

Later in the chapter (3:15-16) it provides a link between peace, thanksgiving and the prophetic, speaking of us dwelling in the message of Christ as we teach and admonish one another with psalms, spiritual songs etc…To dwell in His message in order to teach through worship is a wonderful concept. This must be speaking of the prophetic flow that comes when we worship. As we sing in Psalms and spiritual  songs our worship is used for others to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit.

In short, our choice to live in His thoughts with thanksgiving positions us to dwell in the message of Christ for our own freedom each others…
